Applications are now open for the ArlingTeens Leaders Internship Program. Teens ages 14-18 can explore a variety of Parks and Recreation careers during this two‑week program, held in July. The application deadline is May 10. Apply for the Arlingteens program.

Earth Day: Trash Clean‑Up

Celebrate Earth Day by helping keep Arlington’s parks clean. Join us at Gulf Branch Nature Center on Wed., April 22, from 5-6 p.m. for a community trash clean‑up. Gloves, trash grabbers, and bags will be provided, and the event will take place rain or shine. Sign up for the clean‑up here.

Living History at Fort C.F. Smith Park

Step back in time on Sat., April 25, from 12-4 p.m. as the Union Army sets up camp at Fort C.F. Smith Park. Families can enjoy a day of living history featuring drilling demonstrations, specialized fort tours, and more.

Spring Native Plant Sale

There’s still time to order from the Spring Native Plant Sale!  Choose from a variety of plants that support local wildlife and thrive in our region; perfect for attracting birds and butterflies.

Shop a wide selection of plants suited to our local climate and wildlife. Orders must be placed by Fri., April 17. Pick up is Sat., April 25. 

Help shape Arlington’s Capital Improvement Plan

Arlington is updating its 10‑year Capital Improvement Plan and wants your input on where to focus future investments. Tell us which parts of the County’s existing infrastructure such as streets, parks, technology, stormwater and utility systems, and public buildings should be prioritized. Share your feedback by April 23.

Arlington Palooza returns May 16!

Arlington Palooza is back on Sat., May 16, from 1-6 p.m. at Lubber Run Community Center and Park.
This free, family-friendly event includes live music, local vendors, food trucks, hands-on activities, and fun for all ages.

Applications are open for artisan, community, food, and entertainment vendors until April 17. You can also RSVP to let us know you plan to attend.

Water Safety Day!

Come to Long Bridge Aquatics & Fitness Center on Sat., May 23, for Water Safety Day, a free event focused on helping all ages stay safe and confident in and around the water. Enjoy age‑specific sessions that teach key swimming and water‑safety skills, including Aqua Tots Together, Aqua Preschoolers Together, Hydro Heroes for kids, and Aqua Awareness for teens and adults.
