Invited to speak about sanctuary, Colm Toibin will touch on Thomas Mann, the Nobel Prize winning German writer who is the subject of Toibin's novel "The Magician'. Mann's escape from Europe during WWII was orchestrated by Washington Post publisher, Agnes Meyer. The lecture will be followed by a conversation with German writer, Malte Herwig. The writers will be signing books after the presentation. Also enjoy the pop up exhibiton The Travel Door Project by artist Steven Luu. The City of Fairfax is among the many sponsors of this event.
