Your Story Starts Here
This past week was a powerful reminder of how strong school–home partnerships support student success and well-being. Our student artists’ talent was on full display at last Wednesday’s Lake Braddock Art Show, and families shared their love of reading at yesterday's Book Fair Family Night. Seeing so many families come out to support our creative and book-loving Lions was a heartwarming reflection of the strength of our school community.
This week we honor and recognize our military-connected students during our Purple Up! Spirit Week. Our school community is proud to celebrate and support these students and their families.
With the 4th Quarter underway, thank you for your continued efforts to support consistent student attendance. Every day a student is in the classroom is an opportunity for them to build on their social and academic foundations. Let’s finish this year strong by ensuring our students are present and ready to learn every single day. As our school motto proudly states, “Together we grow!”

Purple up! Spirit Week Continues

2026-2027 Student Intentions Form
3rd Quarter Progress Reports will go home with your child on Friday. Included with the Progress Report is the Student Intentions for the 2026-2027 School Year form.
This information is important because school staffing is based on enrollment, and state regulations require that we determine the educational intentions of students leaving FCPS.
Please complete and return to Kings Park as soon as possible. We appreciate your support.
Family Input for Class Placements 2026-2027
As we begin to plan for the 2026-2027 school year, we are inviting your input. Creating class assignments requires careful consideration and the involvement of many perspectives. We know a good teacher-student match and a productive mix of children are ingredients for success. Should you have additional information about your specific child that school staff may not know, particularly regarding learning style and classroom environment; we ask that you please complete the Family Input Form no later than Monday, May 4th, 2026. If you have more than one child attending KPES, please complete one form per child.
We ask that you do not request specific teachers or friendship pairings and keep the information shared about your child and the type of learning environment you feel would be the most productive for him/her/them. We assure you that with or without a form, each child’s strengths and needs are considered. As in the past, families will receive class placement notification just prior to school starting.
