After several years of exponential growth for Bloomsbury, the U.K.-based publisher is restructuring its operations into three discrete divisions, resulting in 55 layoffs. Employees at Catapult Book Group have formed a union with UAW Local 2110, which also represents staff at HarperCollins, Abrams, and the New Press. AI is the hot topic at this year’s Bologna Children’s Book Fair, as authors, illustrators, and industry pros weigh in on the future of children’s publishing. And Chicago’s Unabridged Bookstore and Norton sales rep for New England Kelsy April are next up among the finalists for PW’s 2026 Bookstore and Sales Rep of the Year. In other news, Spotify has begun rolling out print book sales in partnership with Bookshop.org in the U.S. and U.K. after announcing the plan in February, per the Verge. A forthcoming refund program may help U.S. importers recover some $166 billion paid under President Trump’s tariff policy, which the Supreme Court struck down in February, Reuters reports. 20th Century Studios has tapped Patrick Schwarzenegger to star alongside Phoebe Dynevor in its film adaptation of Emily Henry’s Beach Read, per Deadline. Designer brand Miu Miu’s fourth annual literary salon later this month will feature a conversation between authors Ama Ata Aidoo and Annie Ernaux, Women’s Wear Daily reports. And a new trailer offers a first look at the latest Hunger Games movie, Sunset on the Reaping.
