West Springfield Pyramid Art Show – This Week!
Join us this week for the West Springfield Pyramid Art Show on Wednesday, April 15 from 5:00–8:00 PM at West Springfield High School (park by Door 5). This special event features artwork from elementary, middle, and high school students across our pyramid.
Students whose artwork has been selected have already been contacted by their art teachers. However, all families are welcome to attend and enjoy the incredible artwork created by current Orange Hunt students, former students, and students from across our pyramid.
We hope to see you there!
Kindergarten Registration 2026-27
There’s an easy process for parents wanting to register their child for kindergarten:
- Determine eligibility. Identify your local school.
- Gather documents.
- Fill out forms.
- Schedule an appointment.
Enrolling parent is required to attend the in-person appointment. Once completed the student will be ready for Kindergarten introductory events that Orange Hunt will host.
Please share with families you may know that have a child who will turn 5 on or before September 30, 2026!
If you have any questions, please reach out to Anne-Marie Balmaceda at acbalmaceda@fcps.edu or 703-913-6800.
Arrival Safety
For the safety of all students, please note that the playground is not supervised in the morning. If students choose to play, they must be directly supervised by an adult; otherwise, they should wait by a designated entrance (Door 3, 4, 6, or 8). We have had students seriously injured in the past, and more recently had community incidents involving a helicopter and wildlife on our field, which highlight the real safety risks. Staff supervision begins at 8:20 a.m. when doors open for arrival. We appreciate your partnership in ensuring students remain safe by waiting with them until supervision begins.
