It has been a great week for horology fans. WIRED senior writer Jeremy White has spent several days at the annual Watches and Wonders expo in Geneva, Switzerland, hunting down the most unique timepieces announced at the show. Sure, many of these watches have fantastical prices—like the $437,610 Patek Philippe Celestial Sunrise and Sunset—but that doesn’t mean you can’t ogle. It’s also where we learned of Bremont’s plans to send a watch to the moon later this year; the Supernova Chronograph will be attached to the chassis of the FLIP rover—the rover’s motion should help it keep time.
In more space news, Amazon announced that it is buying Globalstar, which manufactures and operates low Earth orbit satellites, for $11 billion. That might not sound like it will affect you, but Globalstar’s network powers the emergency satellite SOS features on your iPhone and Apple Watch Ultra 3. Amazon will continue that partnership to deliver those features, though the acquisition also means it now gets access to wireless spectrum to fill the orbit with more satellites to help close the cellular coverage gap, helping it get a little closer to Starlink’s dominance.

If you feel the same way, and are lucky enough to have some private outdoor space, I imagine you’d like to have the option to seamlessly access the internet as you bask in the warmth. Whether you’re getting a group together to work remotely from your deck or bringing your laptop outside to stream a movie in your backyard, here’s how you can extend your Wi-Fi connection beyond the lowly indoors.—writes Elana Klein.
