Hey Brisbane,
It's Scott the Content Director from 612 ABC Brisbane.
It's been a rough couple of weeks for rail commuters with track closures resulting in rail replacement buses, and some very long lines. While the closures on the north side of the river are now completed, as school returns this week the Gold Coast and Beenleigh lines are still not fully operational. We've got all the details in the first story below.
You might have also noted some smoke about the city this week, the beautiful weather we've been having have provided ideal conditions for planned burns ahead of the bushfire season — those conditions also result in smoke hanging around in the sky longer. Health authorities are reminding people affected by the smoke to close doors and windows and keep medications nearby.
The war in Iran continues to impact us here in Brisbane, and we're continuing to bring you up to the minute coverage on issues such as fuel prices (and availability) as well as concerns around travelling domestically and overseas later in the year.
As always, we want to cover the stories that matter to you on 612 ABC Brisbane, so please don't hesitate to reach out to me with what's happening in your part of the city that we should be talking about — you can get me at radio.brisbane@abc.net.au
