Hey Iza,
Have you heard the saying
that sitting is the new smoking?
I always thought that sounded a
bit over-the-top until recently.
A few weeks ago, I was talking
to a girlfriend who mentioned she had been feeling some chest pain. It was
not severe, just enough to know something was not right.
She
went to the hospital to get it checked out, and what they found shocked
everyone.
A pulmonary aneurysm in her lung.
It was
terrifying to hear.
The part that really got me was this. She is
fit, takes great care of herself, and looks years younger than she is.
So I asked her how something like this could happen.
Her
answer was simple. Long hours of sitting.
That really
stopped me.
Because when you think about it, how many hours
a day are we sitting without even realizing it?
Working,
driving, eating, scrolling. It all adds up.
That was enough for
me to make a change.
I pulled out my mini treadmill that fits
under my desk, and now I walk while I work a couple of times a day. Nothing
extreme, just moving more consistently.
One thing I know for
sure is that your body keeps score.
We cannot control everything
as we get older, but we can be proactive about how we treat it.
And this is one thing I am choosing to stay ahead of. ~ Nat
P.S. Most aches, stiffness, and fatigue are not from
aging. They come from years of accumulated movement patterns your body has
adapted to. The good news is you can reverse it. To discover more, join the FREE 5 Day Full Body
