BOSTON — The Celtics’ season has come to an abrupt and unexpected end. Playing without Jayson Tatum, who was ruled out two hours before tipoff with left knee stiffness, the C’s lost 109-100 to the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 7 of their first-round playoff series at TD Garden on Saturday night. Boston trailed by as many as 18 points and was down 12 entering the fourth quarter before mounting a furious comeback to cut the deficit to one. Dramatic video: Brothers, dog rescued from water after Mass. sailboat incident |
|
|
Two brothers and a dog were rescued from a sailboat that had run aground off Essex, Massachusetts, Friday night, officials said. The rescue was captured on dramatic body camera video — the 28- and 30-year-old men and their small dog can be seen wading in what Essex police said was frigid water near the mouth of the river in the Atlantic. Their 30-foot boat, Jenny Lee, was listing and taking on water after sending out its emergency beacon that the U.S. Coast Guard flagged for first responders about 8:12 p.m. Once the brothers were found and brought to shore via a rescue skiff, one had to be carried through sand dunes on an officer’s shoulders. And while both were taken to the hospital for hypothermia treatment, police said, they were in stable condition as of that night, while the dog was in good condition. All are expected to be OK. |
