The ADHD medicine shortage has taken a pretty astounding turn: it's leading some people to self-medicate with cocaine because it is easier for them to get. One woman who runs a rehab centre said she had seen a link between the two issues. She warned it was common for people struggling with addiction to also have ADHD. It is not recommended that people turn to illicit substances as it can be incredibly harmful. You can read why here.

Meanwhile it can sometimes feel like you're in the minority these days if you order a coffee with good old-fashioned dairy milk. But is our obsession with almond, oat, soy and all the other kinds of plant-based milks as healthy as we think? There's been a warning in the UK over parents giving children aged under five sweetened plant milks (or nut juice as some people in the comments insist it should be called!) See all the latest on it here. If you want to have a look at what the best milk options are out there, then this past Shopping Swaps piece also has some useful tips.

We're also very excited that journalist Samantha Landy is joining the team for the next few weeks after a very busy year on maternity leave. In her first article, she's opened up about six things she learnt in her first 12 months as a mum. You can read her personal and relatable story here.

Lastly, keep an eye out for our special federal budget coverage tonight once the lock up ends. We will have all the latest updates for health, aged care and the NDIS.

Have a great week!
