Donald Trump hates a lot of people. But his least favorite congressman has got to be Rep. Thomas Massie, who, over the past year, has been the lone Republican in Congress willing to challenge the vengeful president.

Now, with Massie locked in a nasty and extremely expensive primary election, we might see a referendum on Trump's sinking popularity. But it's also about so much more.

My colleague Stephanie Mencimer is out today with a deeply reported and insightful piece on the Kentucky Republican, who, as she describes it, "has always been a pain in the ass." It's also chock-full of great quotes from Massie, including this one:

"I vote with Republicans 91 percent of the time. And the 9 percent I don’t, they’re taking up for pedophiles, starting another war, or bankrupting our country."

Well said, sir.
