The Book Industry Study Group has tapped Duke University Press’s Allison Belan to succeed Brian O’Leary as executive director. Portland, Ore.–based publisher and distributor Microcosm, which turns 30 this year, talked with PW about its unconventional move to decrease its book output. And PRH’s Random House imprint will publish a new Godfather novel by Adriana Trigliani, in collaboration with Mario Puzo’s estate, next fall. In other news, France’s highest court has upheld a government-mandated delivery fee for books ordered via Amazon, which aims to help indie booksellers. Amazon’s Prime Video has ordered a TV series adaptation of Elsie Silvers’s Rose Hill romance novels, per the Hollywood Reporter. Parade traces the meteoric rise of Quicksilver author Callie Hart, who originally self-published her romantasy hit in 2024, and Forbes unpacks the latest trend in business book publishing.
