FAIRFAX COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS FREE PUZZLE HUNT
Walk, bike, and roll safely with friends & family!
Explore wonderful locations within Fairfax County by participating in this summer's Solving Fun Puzzle Hunt, which kicks off June 1, 2026! The hunt filled with bike and pedestrian safety-themed puzzles for you and your family and friends to solve together.
Solve the puzzles to find a location within Fairfax County, and go there to find clues for final answers. Happy solving!

From the Library...
Last day for student book checkout: Friday, May 22nd
All student books due: Wednesday, June 3rd
Prizes will be given to homerooms that return (or complete a lost book option for) all their library books!
Lost Library Book?
If student have lost books that cannot be returned, there are 3 options.
Complete one and the library will remove the books from the student’s account:

Replace the book – Buy a new copy and donate it to the library.
OR
-
Contribute to a replacement fund – Pay via MySchoolBucks (under Library Fines & Lost Books), cash or check (payable to Haycock Elementary School) and the library will handle the shopping.
OR

A heartfelt note or drawing from your student – your student writes a short letter or a drawing explaining what happened and what they will do in the future to avoid losing books.

Mental Health Awareness Month is about more than awareness...it’s about showing up for one another. It provides a chance to stand with your community and show that no one struggles alone. Everyone is invited to speak up against mental health stigma.
Your Child's Mental Wellness Matters: Access Comprehensive Services
Reach out to the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB) for specialized youth mental health services designed to help your child succeed. The CSB has individual and family counseling, psychiatric diagnostic evaluations, medication management, parenting groups, peer support, crisis response, recovery supports that include medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and intensive and other services.

English Empowerment Center Summer 2026 English Classes
The English Empowerment Center is now accepting registrations for Summer 2026 English classes for adult English learners. Classes focus on building practical communication skills to support success at work, at home, and in the community.

In-Person Classes: Available at locations across Northern Virginia, including Alexandria, Annandale, Arlington, Culmore, Falls Church, Fairfax, Herndon, Lorton, and Mount Vernon.
