Out of the many great responses we receive, we select a few standouts to publish on Wednesdays. Dear Carolyn: James is my sister-in-law’s partner. They’ve been together about five years. To put it nicely, James is high horse moral blowhard on a lot of things, and one is being vegan. He really has a lot to say about it. I host all the holidays for my husband's side, and each one requires a pre-game call with SIL to ensure that James will have acceptable vegan offerings. I make it happen because I love SIL. But, are you ready? I was downtown for a work meeting and went to a bar with colleagues after and there was James, at the bar, eating a bacon cheeseburger and fries. I checked the menu -- all animals, no plant-based burgers. I asked the bartender if he knew that guy who just ate the burger, and he said, "James? He’s here every Monday. It’s half off burgers on Mondays."… |
