Mistakes are a fact of life. It is the response to the error that counts. ~Nikki Giovanni My parents took their Wheaten Terrier, Sadie, to the boarding facility before heading to the airport for a two-week trip to Ireland. The self-proclaimed “pet resort” booked out months in advance. It boasted offerings like nature hikes, playtimes, and a daily “yappy hour” with ice-cream treats. Sadie was my parents’ constant companion, their dog child in retirement, and, as such, was treated like canine royalty. She didn’t eat dog food. She ate chicken, freshly cooked. She didn’t sleep at the foot of the bed but on a pillow by the head. (Keep reading)
