Questions remain after Boston Harbor boat crash killed 24-year-old woman

An investigation is continuing after a recreational boat crashed into an airport pier that extends into Boston Harbor late Wednesday night, killing a 24-year-old woman and injuring the three others who were on board.

It’s still unclear if anyone will face charges in the crash, and officials have not named the boat operator at this point. Freedom Boat Club, which owns the vessel, said it was taken without authorization, or knowledge, and past club hours.

One more cool day before big weekend warmup

It would have been nice to see everyone get a soaking, but the rain yesterday was both selective and elusive. Elevation helped a lot, with Greater Worcester picking up over an inch – the most rain since mid-March. Elsewhere, it was just enough for some puddles. Accused Cambridge gunman faces a judge from his hospital bed

The man who allegedly fired dozens of gunshots on Memorial Drive, critically injuring two people in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on Monday, was arraigned from his hospital bed on Thursday.

Tyler Brown, who has a lengthy criminal history and has been recovering after being shot himself by a police officer and a legally-armed former Marine who responded to the chaotic shooting, is facing a number of charges, including two counts of armed assault with intent to murder. Officials allege the 46-year-old, who has a lengthy criminal history, erratically fired an assault-style rifle in broad daylight on a busy stretch of roadway along the Charles River just a mile and a half from MIT and Harvard Square.

Brown pleaded not guilty. He will be held pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for next Thursday.
