I think these two women were mother and daughter, judging by their faces and how their hands touched on the train pole. The young woman’s hair was gorgeous, and is what prompted me to draw them — on my phone with my finger. Usually people don’t notice (or I don’t think they do), but the woman seated by my left elbow remarked positively to me after I was done. A quick post today, as I’m in Sag Harbor for a screening of our documentary, WOMEN LAUGHING. It will be at The Church, a venue for cultural events, started by April Gornick annd Eric Fischl. After the screening, I will be in conversation with The New Yorker’s cartoon editor, Emma Allen, and my fellow director Kathleen Hughes. It will be moderated by former ABC anchor Lynn Sherr! Thrilled. Thanks for being here! See you later. You're currently a free subscriber to Seeing Things. For the full experience, upgrade your subscription. |
