I think the weekend trip to the lake sounds like a great idea and we should probably leave by Friday afternoon if we want to beat the traffic. I checked the weather and it looks like it will be warm but not too humid so perfect for being on the water. We can pick up supplies on Thursday evening so we are ready to go. Let me know if you want to bring anything specific I can grab extra snacks and drinks. The cabin has a grill so we could do a cookout one night. Also there are some good hiking trails nearby if anyone is interested in that. I will bring some board games in case we have a rainy evening. I think everyone will have a good time it has been a while since we all got together like this.
Please let me know what time you think we should head out. I can drive if needed and my car has plenty of room for everyone and the supplies.

I tried that new pasta dish you mentioned and it turned out really well. The key was letting the sauce simmer for a while to develop the flavors. I added a bit more garlic than the recipe called for and used fresh basil from the garden. Next time I might try it with a different type of pasta maybe the rigatoni instead of penne. The whole thing came together in about 30 minutes which was nice for a weeknight. I also made a side salad with a simple vinaigrette to go with it. Let me know if you have any other recipes you have been wanting to try I am always looking for new ideas. The leftovers reheated nicely the next day too which is always a bonus.
I am thinking about trying that chicken dish next week the one with the lemon and herbs. Let me know if you have tried that before and what you thought of it.
