I really enjoyed that hiking trail you recommended last week. The views were incredible and the weather held up nicely. I ended up taking a detour to see the old fire lookout tower, which was closed but still impressive from the outside. The whole loop took about four hours with plenty of stops for photos. I saw a family of deer near the creek and a couple of hawks circling above. My legs are sore today but it was worth it. Next time I might bring a picnic and stay longer. The parking situation was fine there was space even on a Saturday morning. I think I'll go again before the leaves change. Let me know if you want to join me for a hike sometime. I could also use some advice on good waterproof boots since mine are wearing out. Thanks again for the tip it really made my weekend.

That was such a great conversation about gardening last evening. I tried your suggestion to add coffee grounds to the soil and the tomatoes are really responding. The basil is coming along too though it could use more sun. I moved the pots to the south side of the patio and that seems to help. I also started some lavender from seed which is always tricky but a few sprouts have appeared. Your tip about not overwatering is key. We had a small family gathering over the weekend and everyone loved the fresh herbs in the salad. I am planning to try a cucumber trellis next season if we have the space. Let me know how your pepper plants are doing. Thanks again for all the advice.
