Yeah I think starting the prep work a day ahead really helps for that kind of gathering. We did a similar thing last fall when we had everyone over and it made the whole day much smoother. I spent the evening before chopping vegetables and setting up the serving dishes so that when morning came I could focus on the main course without rushing. The timing worked out well because we were able to sit down together right when everything was ready. If you want I can share the timeline we used. It might give you a framework even if your menu is different. Also I found that having a playlist ready in advance helped set a relaxed tone. Let me know if you need suggestions for that too.

One other thing that worked well was assigning small tasks to a few guests as they arrived. Nothing demanding just simple things like filling water glasses or lighting candles. It made people feel included and took a few small items off my list. I think you will find the day goes smoothly if you keep things flexible.

The contractor finished the kitchen update last week and I have to say the result is really nice. We went with a lighter color scheme than originally planned and it makes the space feel much larger. They ran into a small issue with the plumbing but resolved it quickly without any extra time. One thing I would suggest is ordering materials ahead of schedule because some items had to be ordered special and took a few extra days. If you are thinking about doing something similar I can put you in touch with the team we used.
