Hi, thanks for asking about that hiking trip. I’ve been meaning to write back. We ended up taking the Palmer Trail to the ridge, about 6 miles round trip. The weather was perfect, not too warm, just a light breeze at the top. We packed sandwiches, plenty of water, and a small first aid kit. The trail markers were easy to follow, though one section by the creek had some loose rocks. We saw deer around the bend near the meadow. If you plan to go soon, remember the parking lot fills by 8:30 on Saturdays. There’s also a nice view of the valley if you take the short spur just past the big oak. About the book you recommended – I finally started it last night. The opening chapter had me hooked with the way the author described the coastal village. I liked the dialogue between the two main characters, especially the part where they talk about sailing. I’m only about 60 pages in, but I already have a sense of the conflict brewing.
