Future-ready networks must be adaptable, not redesigned
Enterprise networks have undergone repeated rebuilds to accommodate technological shifts, from mainframes to cloud and now AI and quantum-safe security. Alkira vice president of engineering Santosh Dornal writes that such project-based modernization creates operational drag and complexity, making networks harder to adapt when businesses need agility. A future-ready network should decouple services from transport, ensure policy portability and maintain elasticity, allowing it to absorb change without constant redesign, writes Dornal.

How to choose between hybrid and multi-cloud architectures
Digital transformation is essential for business survival, with 89% of large companies undergoing digital and AI transformations, according to Harvard Business Review. Companies must choose between hybrid and multi-cloud architectures when migrating to the cloud. Hybrid cloud integrates private and public clouds, offering better control and compliance, while multi-cloud uses multiple providers to avoid vendor lock-in and enhance redundancy. Each architecture presents unique challenges, such as latency and higher costs for hybrid cloud, and security management and complexity for multi-cloud.
