Dear Families,
As we begin planning for the upcoming school year, we would love your input to help us better understand the learning environment in which your child thrives.
Please take a few moments to complete the Google Form linked below. Your responses will provide valuable insight into your child's strengths, learning preferences, and the qualities you feel would help them be most successful in a classroom next year.
While we cannot guarantee specific teacher placements, we carefully review family input as part of our thoughtful class placement process. Our goal is to create balanced classrooms where every student can learn, grow, and succeed.
Thank you for partnering with us and for sharing information that will help us support your child’s continued success.
Please complete the form by June 17th, 2026.

Elementary Schools Early Release Wednesdays
Early Release Wednesdays for 2026-27
FCPS will continue with limited early release Wednesdays for elementary schools during the 2026-27 school year. The number of days has been reduced from eight to four.
Early release Wednesdays provide elementary teachers with a dedicated block of time to prepare lessons, participate in professional development and training, and collaborate with their peers. A well-supported and continuously improving teaching staff leads to better educational outcomes for students.
Please view the dates for our school’s early release Wednesdays below:
- October 21, 2026
- December 2nd 2026
- February 10, 2026
- May 5th 2026
Visit the FCPS website for more information about early release Wednesdays.
Thank You, College & Career Day Volunteers!
Our Annual College & Career Day was an incredible success, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to all of the volunteers who shared their time, experiences, and expertise with our students.
We were honored to welcome professionals from a wide variety of careers, as well as college students who shared their educational journeys and insights about life after high school. Through engaging presentations and meaningful conversations, our guests helped students explore future possibilities, discover new interests, and better understand the pathways that can lead to their goals.
The excitement throughout the building was contagious! Students left inspired, curious, and eager to learn more about the many opportunities that await them. In fact, College & Career Day was one of the highlights of the week, with students continuing to talk about what they learned long after the presentations ended.
Thank you to every volunteer who invested in our students and helped broaden their horizons. Your willingness to share your stories made a lasting impact, and we are grateful for your partnership in helping our students dream big and plan for bright futures.
With appreciation,
Principal Mirnaly Vega
