Early Release Wednesdays for 2026-27

FCPS will continue with limited early release Wednesdays for elementary schools during the 2026-27 school year. The number of days has been reduced from eight to four.

Early release Wednesdays provide elementary teachers with a dedicated block of time to prepare lessons, participate in professional development and training, and collaborate with their peers. A well-supported and continuously improving teaching staff leads to better educational outcomes for students.

Please view the dates for our school’s early release Wednesdays below:

  • September 30

Student Testing Results Coming Soon

Through June, you will receive your child’s spring assessment results. If you aren’t sure what assessments your child took this year, you can view a list of tests by grade level on the FCPS website.

Most scores are available in SIS ParentVUE. Visit FCPS’ website for additional information about how test results are reported to families

Websites for each test provide report translations and help with understanding test results. Please contact our front office with any testing questions or for additional information about how our school and teachers use test results to support student success.

Expanding Learning Opportunities for All Students

At Spring Hill Elementary School, we're committed to providing every student with the tools and opportunities they need to thrive both during the school year and over the summer.

This summer, all students will be allowed to check out a technology device that will support continued growth.

This will ensure continued access to tools such as ST Math and Benchmark Universe that allow students to work at their own pace and level. Programs like these adapt to each child's needs, providing extra support in areas where they're building skills and advancing them when they're ready for more challenges. This opportunity will allow students to continue their personalized learning at home, to develop digital literacies and important routines around managing their technology.

Please complete this Google form by 4:00p.m. Tuesday, June 16th if you would like your child to check out a laptop for the summer.

Spring Hill Science Olympiad Celebrates Outstanding State Tournament Success

As we conclude this school year and look ahead to the next Science Olympiad season, we would like to recognize the exceptional accomplishments of Spring Hill Elementary School's Science Olympiad team during the 2025–2026 season. Through hard work, dedication, and teamwork, the team earned an impressive 3rd-place overall finish at the Virginia Science Olympiad Division B State Tournament held at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.

Our students demonstrated remarkable achievement across all events. Every tournament participant placed sixth or better in most of their events, resulting in every student earning at least one individual medal. We are incredibly proud of their commitment to scientific learning and competition.

We also extend our best wishes to our graduating sixth-grade team members as they continue their scientific journeys in middle school and beyond.

Students interested in joining Science Olympiad Div B for the 2026–2027 season are encouraged to contact us at shes.vaso.divb@gmail.com for more information.
