Greetings Laurel Ridge Families,
As we head into the final stretch of the school year, my heart is incredibly full. This past week was a beautiful reminder of what makes our community so special. On Monday, we hosted our annual Senior Parade, welcoming back high school graduates who started their journeys right here in these hallways. Seeing our former students don their caps and gowns was a powerful moment for our current students and staff alike. Once a Lion, always a Lion! The celebration continued with spectacular performances from our band and strings programs, showcasing the immense talent and hard work of our musicians. To top off an already amazing week, we want to extend a massive congratulations to our very own Mr. Amofa, who was recognized as a county finalist for Outstanding Operational Employee at the FCPS Honors event. We are so proud to have his dedication representing Laurel Ridge!
Next week will be short and bittersweet. With the school year winding down, children often experience a mix of big emotions—excitement for summer, but also anxiety about changing routines or saying goodbye to friends. When talking with your child this weekend, try using open-ended questions like, "What is one favorite memory you'll take from this year?" or "What are you feeling most excited or nervous about for the summer?" Practicing active listening and validating their feelings will help them process this transition smoothly and feel secure as they step into their next chapter.
There is so much to celebrate regarding our students' accomplishments this year, and while it will be incredibly hard to say goodbye for the summer, I am profoundly grateful for your partnership. Have a wonderful weekend!

Student Testing Results Coming Soon
Through June, you will receive your child’s spring assessment results. If you aren’t sure what assessments your child took this year, you can view a list of tests by grade level on the FCPS website.
Most scores are available in SIS ParentVUE. Visit FCPS’ website for additional information about how test results are reported to families.
Websites for each test provide report translations and help with understanding test results. Please contact our front office with any testing questions or for additional information about how our school and teachers use test results to support student success.
