I was thinking about that hike we talked about last weekend. The trail up to Eagle Peak is supposed to be amazing this time of year. My friend Sarah went last week and said the wildflowers are in full bloom. She took some photos and the views were just incredible. We should plan for a Saturday morning since the weather forecast looks clear. I can bring snacks and plenty of water. Let me know if you want to carpool - my car has plenty of room for both of us and our gear. We could stop at that little bakery on the way for some fresh pastries. I heard they have amazing blueberry scones. Also, I need to check my tire pressure before we go. The trailhead parking lot can get crowded so let's aim to arrive by 8am at the latest. I'll send you a message the night before to confirm everything.
Oh, and I wanted to ask if you have a good recommendation for a lightweight backpack. Mine is getting old and the zipper keeps getting stuck. I saw there's a sale at the outdoor shop downtown but I'm not sure what brand to go with. You always have the best gear suggestions. Let me know what you think.

I finally watched that documentary you recommended. The cinematography was absolutely stunning and the soundtrack really pulled everything together. I had no idea about the history behind the main subject. It really makes you think about how much we take for granted. The director did an incredible job weaving together interviews and archival footage. I'd love to watch it again to catch some details I might have missed. Have you seen any of the director's other work? I heard they have a new project coming out next year that explores similar themes. We should definitely chat about it more over coffee this weekend.
Also, thanks for sending me that article about sustainable living. I started implementing a few of the tips and they actually make a difference. My electricity bill went down a bit and I feel better about my footprint. I'm thinking about adding solar panels next year if the tax credits stay in place. Let me know if you want me to forward you any resources I find.
