2026 SUMMER OFFICE HOURS
Monday, June 22 - Friday, July 31
9:00am - 12:00pm

Good afternoon Newington Forest Families,

Happy Friday! This week was another busy one as we approach the end of the school year.

  • Talent Shows - We had nearly 100 performers at this year's Talent Show! It takes courage to get on that stage in front of your peers and our Knights shined! Thank you Mrs. Gordon and Mx. Bosley, for putting together this fun showcase. Thank you also to our Parent Volunteers who supported our teachers and students throughout the process - we always appreciate your help.
  • 3rd-6th Field Days - Grades 3-6 had their Field Day activities indoors due to the weather, but it sure didn't dampen their fun. Everyone got to enjoy a snowcone either way! Thank you again to our Specialists and Parent Volunteers for another great Field Day!
  • Kindergarten Flag Day - Our youngest Knights took the stage for our final singing performance of the school year! Great job, Kindergarten! Thank you Mrs. Gordon and Ms. Bosley for another terrific concert.
  • Student Laptops - This week, all students turned in their FCPS laptops for re-imaging and preparation for the next school year. We appreciate the care that our students showed their school devices this year.

Monday is the Schoolwide Picnic on the Field! Please keep in mind that there will be modifications to your child's lunch schedule if you plan to attend. Individual lunch times will be sent in Teacher weekly emails. I can't wait to celebrate with our students!

Special Note - We have posted our School Supply Lists for 2026-2027 on our website. A printed copy of the supply lists will also be sent home with students on the last day of school. Our PTA is doing a school supply kit fundraiser to take the hassle out of shopping and raise money at the same time. Please see below for the PTA details.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Sincerely,

Angela Thompson
Principal

Most scores are available in SIS ParentVUE. Visit FCPS’ website for additional information about how test results are reported to families

Support Your Child’s Success in SIS ParentVUE

Signing up for a SIS ParentVUE account helps you to support your child’s academic success! Caregivers can view important information like attendance, grades, progress reports, and assessment scores through ParentVUE.

Once you have activated a ParentVUE account for an FCPS student, you will keep the same account until the student graduates. Information about students in the same family can be accessed through the same ParentVUE account. It is available online and as a mobile app for Apple and Android devices.

Need help creating a SIS ParentVue account? This video walks through the steps. Find out more about SIS ParentVUE.

If you already have an account, be sure your contact information is up to date. Parents/guardians can update their phone numbers or email addresses in the Parent/Guardian section. View additional details about ParentVUE.

Activate Your ParentVUE Account to Stay ConnectedOn Wednesday, July 29, FCPS families who haven't activated their ParentVUE account will receive an email with the subject “Fairfax County Public Schools ParentVUE Activation Letter.”

The email will include instructions to activate a ParentVUE account. If you don’t have an account and don’t receive the email, please check your spam folder or open a Parent Support Request. After July 29, families may also contact Ms. Padua, Student Information Assistant, at jpadua@fcps.edu to request a printed activation letter or a new activation key, if needed.

All families are encouraged to activate their accounts as soon as possible to ensure they receive immediate access to important student information and school communications.

For assistance activating your account, please contact our front office. For technical support, create a Parent Support Request.
