I recently joined a community garden and it has been fantastic. We have been growing tomatoes, bell peppers, and basil. The weather this season has been perfect, and the soil is rich. I even learned a new recipe for homemade salsa using our harvest. It is a great way to meet neighbors and share tips. Everyone is so generous with advice and extra seedlings. I am thinking of expanding to squash and cucumbers next year. The garden committee meets every Saturday morning, and we all bring coffee. There is a sense of pride watching things grow from seed to fruit. My kids love picking cherry tomatoes right off the vine. We already have more produce than we can eat, so we share with friends. It has become a small ritual to walk through the garden after dinner. If you have ever considered gardening, I highly recommend starting small. You do not need a lot of space. Containers on a balcony work wonders. The satisfaction of eating something you grew yourself is unmatched. I never thought I would enjoy weeding, but it is oddly meditative. The bees and butterflies are back too. It feels good to contribute to the local ecosystem. I am already planning next year's layout. Maybe I will try carrots and radishes. The garden has brought a new rhythm to my week. I look forward to it every day.

I have been re-reading my favorite childhood books lately. There is something incredibly comforting about the old stories that shaped my early love of reading. I just finished "Charlotte's Web" again, and it still brings tears to my eyes. The themes of friendship and sacrifice never get old. My niece is just getting into reading on her own, so I am passing along my collection of classics. It is wonderful to see her discover the same magic I felt as a kid. We have started a little two-person book club where we discuss a chapter each week. Last week we talked about the role of Fern in the story. It sparked a great conversation about empathy and taking care of animals. I am also re-reading "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" and I cannot believe how well it holds up. The world-building is timeless. I find myself noticing new details that I missed when I was younger. The experience of re-reading as an adult is so different. You pick up on the deeper layers and the author's craft. I am trying to keep a journal of my impressions this time around. It has become a relaxing evening ritual. I used to think re-reading was a waste of time, but now I see it as revisiting old friends. There is so much richness to be found. My niece asked me what book to read next, and I suggested "The Secret Garden." I hope she loves it as much as I did. It is a joy to share these stories with the next generation.
