Thanks for reaching out about Saturday. I think the back patio would work well if we set up a few folding tables. I was thinking we could do a simple potluck style with everyone bringing a dish to share. Sarah mentioned she could bring her pasta salad and Tom offered to pick up some drinks. If the weather turns we can move everything into the living room pretty easily. I have about eight chairs but we might need a few more so if you have folding chairs that would help. Let me know what time works best for you and I will send out a message to everyone. I was also thinking we could do a small fire pit in the evening if people want to stick around. Nothing too elaborate just some casual time together.
Just a heads up I might run a little late since I have an errand to take care of earlier that afternoon but I should be there by the time people start arriving.

I checked the measurements you sent and the desk should fit against the wall under the window just fine. The shelving unit you mentioned would work on the opposite wall and that would leave enough room for the filing cabinet next to the door. I think if we move the bookshelf into the hallway it opens up the space considerably and gives you more room to work. We could pick up some storage bins for the closet to keep things tidy. I have a label maker you can use for organizing the drawers. Let me know if you want me to come over on Sunday afternoon to help rearrange the furniture. I can bring my toolkit just in case we need to adjust anything or hang some shelves. It should not take more than a couple of hours to get everything set up the way you described.
Also I wanted to mention that the lighting in that room could be improved with a simple floor lamp in the corner near the bookshelf area. Let me know what you think.
