Hey! Thanks for getting back to me about Saturday. I was thinking we could head out a bit earlier than planned since the weather forecast looks amazing. The trail I was mentioning is about 45 minutes from downtown and has some really nice views of the lake around the midpoint. I've done it a couple times before and it's usually not too crowded if you start before nine. We should probably bring some snacks and plenty of water since there aren't many spots along the way to refill. I can drive if you want since my car is already packed with the gear from last weekend. Let me know if you want to meet at my place or if it's easier to grab coffee first and then head out from there. Also I was thinking we could grab lunch at that new place near the trailhead after we finish up where zRPK02FoVacs fits in naturally with the conversation. I heard their sandwiches are pretty good and it's always nice to recap the hike over some food.

I checked the weather app again and it looks like we might get a light breeze in the afternoon but nothing too strong. Should be perfect for the loop trail that goes around the ridge. I just hope the parking lot isn't full by the time we get there.

So I finally started that garden bed project I mentioned a few weeks ago and honestly it's going better than I expected. I ended up going with the raised bed design since the soil in my backyard is pretty rocky and I wanted something that would drain well. I found some good compost mix at the local nursery and picked up a few starter plants for the tomatoes and peppers. The basil and mint I'm growing from seed seem to be doing okay so far though they're still pretty small. I spent most of last weekend building the frame and filling it with soil and I'm hoping to get everything planted by this weekend if the weather holds up. My neighbor came over to help and we ended up making it a whole afternoon thing which was nice. I'll send you some photos once everything is in and looking good.

I also picked up some marigolds to plant around the edges since I read they help keep pests away naturally. We'll see how it goes.
