Freedom 250 Hero Hub & Veteran Picnic
Thursday, June 18 | 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States with VA! Veteran Service Officers will be available to assist with VBA claims and health care programs and services will be available to share information. Tables will be in the Ambulatory Care Center Hallway at the Omaha VA with resources and information. Outside the Ambulatory Care Center entrance, a free Veteran Appreciation Picnic will be available for Veterans and their families as supplies last, with food supplied by Hy-vee, snow cones, games, giveaways and more. The picnic will be from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Outpatient services are closed on Friday
VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System clinics will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026, for the Juneteenth federal holiday. All VA outpatient clinics, pharmacies, and administrative offices will be closed.
The Emergency Department at Omaha VA Medical Center will be open.
