6th Grade Promotion Ceremony! 

Congratulations to our 6th Graders!

Dear Dragons,

As we wrap up another incredible school year, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our students, families, and staff for making this year such a success. Together, we celebrated achievements, overcame challenges, and created meaningful learning experiences for our children.

As summer begins, I hope your family enjoys time to relax, recharge, and make lasting memories. While summer is a wonderful opportunity for fun and adventure, it is also important to maintain healthy routines that support learning.

One of the best gifts we can give our children this summer is time away from screens and time with books. Research continues to show that excessive recreational screen time can impact attention, sleep, and overall well-being. I encourage families to set reasonable limits on screen use and prioritize activities that foster creativity, exploration, and connection.

Most importantly, please make reading a daily habit. Whether your child reads independently, listens to audiobooks, reads with a family member, or visits the local library, just 20 minutes of reading each day can make a tremendous difference. Summer reading helps students maintain the progress they made throughout the school year, strengthens vocabulary and comprehension skills, builds background knowledge, and increases confidence as learners. Students who continue reading during the summer often return to school better prepared, making it easier to engage with new learning and achieve academic success from the very first day.

Thank you for your partnership and support throughout the school year. We are so grateful for our Dogwood community and all that we accomplished together. We wish you a safe, restful, and joy-filled summer, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in the fall!

Summer Office Hours

Our main office will have summer hours starting Monday, June 22nd.  The office will be open from 9:00am - 1:00pm Monday through Friday. 

The office will be closed Friday, July 3rd in observance of Independence Day!
