Today, we’ve found a whole bunch of great cleaning deals. Including …

The Prime Day cleaning deals we’re most excited about

An upright canister vacuum, Scrub Daddy sponge, portable dish washer, and bar soap
NYT Wirecutter

If you think Prime Day is a good time to splurge on a brand-new, big-ticket doodad (LED face mask, anyone?), you’d be right. But it’s also a good opportunity to upgrade the things you use every day, like cleaning supplies. Because the best-in-class version of a vacuum cleaner or a dish rack can make your chores feel a little less, well, chore-like. Our experts have combed through the mostly mediocre sales so you don’t have to. Below, the cleaning supplies and appliance deals we’re most excited about:

  • Editor Rory Evans used to think her house was clean. This powerful upright vacuum (our new top pick!) showed her how wrong she’d been.
  • “I’m buying the dads,” says head of social and video Julia Bush. By that, of course, she means Scrub Daddy sponges. The durable scrubbers easily remove baked-on food and lather up dishes until they’re nice and clean.
  • This mop-vacuum combo is very effective at cleaning hard floors.
  • For a more convenient option: This robot is also an excellent mopper and a pretty good vacuum — and it cleans itself.
  • Swipe dust and crumbs from narrow nooks and crannies with this boar’s hair detailing brush. It’s terrific for the car, crumby keyboards, dingy baseboards, and dusty plant leaves.
  • One of the most powerful and gentle stain removers we’ve ever tested works wonders on blood stains, grease, and coffee spills.
  • This bar soap is made of goats milk, and its lush lather and fresh scent won over all of our testers.
  • Consider a sinkside upgrade in the form of this chainmail dishcloth, which easily removes gunk stuck to cast iron, glass, carbon steel, and other nonscratch surfaces.
  • One of our favorite detergents for hand-washing clothes eradicates odor better than any of the other ones we tried.
  • If you’re constantly dealing with shedding pets, this handheld vacuum is equipped with bristles specifically designed for grabbing fur.
  • Small kitchen? This compact mat rolls over your sink to create a dish rack that efficiently dries and keeps countertops clutter-free.
  • This laundry backpack can fit 115 liters of dirty clothes — a hands-free solution for anyone trudging to a laundry room or laundromat.
  • If you don’t have a built-in dishwasher but despise hand-washing, consider this countertop model. It cleans thoroughly and takes up minimal space.
