NEH celebrates America’s 250th Anniversary
Over the past 60 years, NEH has provided funding to make possible a wide range of resources and research endeavors that illuminate and educate the public about the nation’s Founding Era. Explore a selection of NEH-supported projects celebrating 250 years of American Independence and discover special exhibitions to visit over the Fourth of July weekend.
Information for NEH Grantees on the Reinstatement of Grant Awards
Information and instructions are available for NEH grant recipients who received notification that a terminated award is eligible for reinstatement.
Winners Announced for the NEH-Sponsored American Heroes Student Art Contest
NEH is a sponsor of the Freedom 250 American Heroes Student Art Contest which invites students to create artwork inspired by important figures of American history. The national contest was open to students in grades 3-12. Winners will be honored at an awards ceremony on July 8, 2026.
New NEH Funding Opportunities
NEH recently created two new funding opportunities: Collections Stewardship and Curriculum Development: Western Civilization.
The Declaration's Journey
Building on NEH's support for the exhibition “The Declaration’s Journey,” currently on view at the Museum of the American Revolution, NEH has committed $2.2 million to extend the exhibition's reach through public programs and educational resources, including a conference, podcast series, and digital interactive tracing the Declaration's influence on other international declarations of sovereignty.
