The reason you're not lean is because you can't say no.
You don't want to seem rude.
The guys are going for drinks after work. It's easier just to go have beers than explain why you're not interested. You can't say no to the kid's leftover mac and cheese. To the office donuts, or to "just one more bite" because someone's offering and turning it down feels like a bigger deal than it should.
This isn't really a nutrition problem.
It's a boundary problem.
An allergy to mild inconvenience.
Saying no without over-explaining it is a skill. Letting a plate sit half-finished without announcing why. Skipping the thing everyone else is doing because it doesn't fit what you actually want.
If you're a people pleaser everywhere else in your life - with your team, your family, your clients - it's showing up on your body too.
Don't be a pushover.
- Matteo
