Summer Greetings from the Principal's Desk!

I hope you are all having a wonderful, relaxing summer and that you had a fantastic and safe Fourth of July holiday!
While the outside of our school might look peaceful and quiet during July, I can assure you that inside, RHES is absolutely buzzing with energy. Far from being empty, our building is currently home to over 600 children every day! We are thrilled to host students across Camp Fairfax, ESY (Extended School Year), and our PAC program. It is pure joy to see our halls filled with not only familiar students but also familiar adults.
A massive shout-out goes to our incredible custodial team. They are working tirelessly right now—not only to deep clean the mod but also to keep the entire main building spotless with so many active summer programs on site. They are the true MVPs of our summer!
While the first day of school might still feel miles away, the calendar has a way of sneaking up on us! I wanted to share a few quick tidbits to keep on your radar, particularly for the families who are brand new to the Rose Hill School community, so please keep reading on!

Rocket Launch (Open House) Information
Mark your calendars, Rocket families! Our annual Rocket Launch (our special version of an Open House) is officially scheduled for Thursday, August 20. This is the perfect opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, drop off school supplies, join the PTA, grab your Kiss & Ride number, and so much more! Check out the flyer here!
To help make the experience as smooth as possible, we have staggered times for different grade levels:
Special Event for Kindergarten Families!
Popsicles on the Playground | 4:00 PM – 4:30 PM Right after the open house, we invite all of our new Kindergarten families to head out to the playground. Grab a cool treat, let the kids play, and take the opportunity to meet and mingle with other RHES kindergarten families! Check out the flyer here!

Mark Your Calendars: Updated Early Release Schedule
We have some great news regarding this year's school calendar! You will notice a significant reduction in Early Release Wednesdays for the upcoming school year.
By limiting these early dismissals, we are able to provide more consistency with regular, five-day instructional weeks. We know this routine greatly benefits our students' learning momentum and helps our Rose Hill families maintain a more predictable weekly schedule.
Please take a moment to mark your calendars for the only four Early Release Wednesdays this year:

Note: On these specific dates, Rose Hill Elementary will dismiss early at 1:00 PM.
