Secretary Rubio met today with Chilean Minister of Foreign Affairs Francisco Pérez Mackenna in Washington, D.C. for their first bilateral meeting. The Secretary and Foreign Minister also discussed opportunities to advance U.S. investment in Chile’s critical minerals sector and ways to counter adversarial influence in critical infrastructure.

The Secretary welcomed Chile’s recent signing of the Pax Silica Declaration and both expressed commitment to deepening cooperation on AI supply chain security under the initiative.
