North Idaho College offers job guarantee for graduates
North Idaho College has introduced a job guarantee program for qualifying graduates beginning this fall. The initiative promises that students who complete an associate of applied science or career technical education program will secure a job within six months of graduating or gain admission to a transfer program. If these outcomes are not met, NIC will provide free additional training, courses and career support. Teachers rethink assignments amid rise of AI
AI's ability to instantly generate essays and responses has complicated how educators assess student learning, writes Brett DeJager, an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Teachers struggle to determine if student work truly reflects understanding and, as a result, educators are rethinking assignments, turning to in-class writing, oral components and process-based tasks to better evaluate student comprehension and discourage overreliance on AI, DeJager writes.
