ARSAC Notes for Guidance Update

• The latest version of the ARSAC Notes for Guidance (NfG) July 2026 is now published and can be found here.

• The following updates to the ARSAC NfG are of note:

  • Updates to reflect new IR(ME)R requirements on co-operation between employers and inclusion of software governance following the 2024 amendment regulations (including sections ‎2.5, ‎2.7(l) and ‎2.20 to ‎2.23)

  • Updates to describe the new process for employer amendment and renewal applications which will come into effect from 1st January 2027 ( in sections ‎1.10 to ‎1.11, ‎2.24, ‎2.29 and ‎2.30)

  • New section ‎2.19 describing matters considered by committee when assessing the equipment profile of an installation within an employer application

  • Update from research “amendment” to “modification” to reflect terminology in the Clinical Trial Regulations (sections ‎4.17 to ‎4.22)

  • New sections ‎5.32 and ‎5.33 to clarify requirements for Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy (SLNB) procedures. Corresponding updates to the footnotes of Table 5.1

  • Removal of procedure code 51Cr-44-46 from Tables 5.1 and 5.6

  • Update to the chemical form for procedure code 99mTc-39-22 to include HMDP for cardiac amyloid imaging

ARSAC Survey
