Dear friends and colleagues:
In my recent extended interview with The Wire China, I argue that the dialectic of Chinese mercantilism and American protectionism under presidents Xi and Trump is irreparably undermining the foundations of the global economic order laid by the United States after World War II. What the Trump administration is hailing as a new “Turnberry system,” defined by “a mix of tariffs and deals for foreign market access and investment,” is, unfortunately, hardly a worthy successor.
I hope you find the piece of interest. Regards, Benn |
