Hi test 👋
I grew up in a small town in Yorkshire, England, and I always loved the opportunity to be with people from different countries; the German neighbour, the Italian waiter, the French exchange-student, all speaking English with their foreign accent, making grammar mistakes...
Why? Because I always thought they were the most interesting, impressive, intelligent, and, quite frankly, "coolest" people in the room.
Yes, it might sound surprising — especially if you are embarrassed to speak English, ashamed of your accent and afraid of making mistakes — but I was jealous of people like you.
I wanted to be the foreigner.
In fact, I wanted to be the foreigner so much, that I studied a degree in French at university, moved to France, then Spain, and learned both languages to fluency.
And I fell in love...
I fell in love with the process of learning the language, learning the culture, experiencing the moment when a language stops feeling scary and starts feeling like part of your identity.
Nowadays, I'm lucky enough to have a job that allows me to share my passion with English learners like you (...and 30 million other people from around the world who have seen my YouTube videos!). 🫣
Here's the problem I constantly see, though...
After learning two languages and teaching English for 20+ years, I have seen that most people waste years focusing on all the wrong things when learning a language. In fact, most don't even know what the right things are!
The good news is that I'm on a mission to change that, which is why I only teach my students the key things that really make a difference to your level, to your fluency and to the way you sound when you speak English.
I'm going to send you a free PDF tomorrow, which shows you my top 10 tips to make real progress towards fluency (and they're all things you can start doing immediately).
Bye for now, 👋 ~ Greg
