Indeed, that fell on the identical day as last week. I intended to visit them this week but ran short on time. I believe we could shift the dates to another time this week once we return. I planned to check what time they would be back, though that lands on a different day this week.

You might consider attempting a Venezuelan pabellón criollo (literally, national flag). It consists of beef, rice, plantains and black beans, and is quite enjoyable to prepare.
Alternatively, I could be any of 3 remarkable Mexican dishes: birria (with beef), cochinito pibíl (with pork) or chiles en nogada (stuffed poblano chiles in a creamy sauce). I have prepared all of them simply because my sons claimed I could not, and each is absolutely exquisite.
Of course, you might prefer assembling a proper British Sunday roast!
