Join us for our Back-to-School Nest Fest!

Garfield ES is excited to welcome our families back for our combined Open House & Back-to-School Nest Fest! We know our families have busy schedules—and many have children in multiple grade levels—so we’ve planned two identical Back-to-School presentation sessions to make it easier for everyone to participate.

We’re also serving pizza dinner for all to enjoy!

Open House & Welcome Activities

1:30–2:00 p.m. | Kindergarten Popsicles on the Playground Kindergarten families are invited to kick off the afternoon with a sweet treat and time together on the playground!

1:30–2:00 p.m. | Pre-K Open House Our Pre-K families can visit the classroom, meet the teacher, and get ready for an exciting year ahead.

2:00 – 2:30 p.m. | K-6 Open House Stop by your child’s classroom to:

Meet your child’s teacher
Visit and explore the classroom
Drop off school supplies

Back-to-School Presentations

2:35–3:25 p.m. | Session 1

3:30–4:15 p.m. | Session 2

Session 2 is a repeat of Session 1, giving families with children in multiple grade levels an opportunity to attend more than one presentation.

During these sessions, families will:

Get an inside look at grade-level curriculum and expectations
Learn about classroom routines and procedures
Discover how GES supports student growth and success
Learn ways we can partner together for a fantastic school year
Families can also visit our specialist, the library, and other parts of our school.

PTA Meeting, Pizza Dinner, and Family Fun

4:15 –5:30 p.m.

Come learn more about our PTA and ways to get involved in the Garfield Elementary community! We’ll wrap up the Nest Fest by celebrating together as a GES community! Pizza dinner will be served to our entire GES community.

Families can also purchase ice cream from a food truck, enjoy the playground (parents/guardians must supervise their student(s), connect with other families, and celebrate the start of a wonderful new school year!
