Light bulbs should never go in curbside trash or recycling. Many bulbs contain materials that can break, release hazardous substances, or damage sorting equipment. Take light bulbs to a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) site, such as the I-66 Transfer Station or I-95 Landfill Complex, for safe and proper disposal. Learn more: fairfaxva.gov/HHW
