Fishing for Parent and Child (8 - 9:30 a.m.)
Learn how to fish alongside your parent or child while enjoying the scenery at Lake Accotink Park in Springfield. Gain a better understanding on how to rig and use a fishing rod, fish safely and be environmentally conscious while fishing. Rod and bait will be provided. Participants 16 and older must have a valid Virginia fishing license. Registration is $14.
Snakes Secret Lives (10 - 11 a.m.)

Join local author E. A. Dustin at Kings Park Library in Burke for a discussion of her novels "The Alphabet Girls" and "Save Me Twice." Learn about the lesser-known historical events that inspired these novels and the difficult moral choices faced by ordinary people in extraordinary times. Attendees will have a chance to win one of several signed copies of "The Alphabet Girls."
