The following is an update from FDA of concern to our subscribers.

CORE Outbreak Investigation Table

The CORE Outbreak Investigation Table is a list of outbreak and adverse event investigations primarily being managed by FDA’s CORE Response Teams. The investigations are in a variety of stages, meaning that some outbreaks have limited information, and others may be near completion. The table will be updated weekly.

This week's updates are:

What's New

A new outbreak of E. coli O103:H25 (ref #1394) has been added to the table. FDA has initiated traceback.

A new outbreak of E. coli O26:H11 (ref #1404) has been added to the table. FDA has initiated traceback.

For the outbreak of Salmonella I 4,[5],12:i:-(ref #1402) linked to a not yet identified product, the case count increased from 30 to 41 cases. FDA has initiated an onsite inspection and sampling

For the outbreak of Cyclospora (ref #1398) linked to a not yet identified product, the case count has adjusted from 11 to 14 cases. This incident now includes additional illnesses based on similarities in reported exposures.

For the outbreak of Cyclospora (ref #1392) linked to a not yet identified product, the case count has been adjusted from 172 to 201. This incident now includes additional illnesses based on similarities in reported exposures. FDA has initiated sampling.

For the outbreak of Salmonella Javiana (ref #1395) linked to jalapeño peppers, FDA updated the outbreak advisory with new information about downstream recalls of products with recalled jalapeños. See the advisory for additional details.

For the outbreak of Cyclospora (ref #1390) linked to iceberg lettuce, FDA updated the outbreak advisory on August 13, 2026, with case count information.

For the outbreak of Cyclospora (ref #1385) linked to a not yet identified product, the case count has increased from 25 to 27.

For the outbreak of Salmonella Oranienburg (ref #1387) linked to a not yet identified product, the case count increased from 97 to 99.

For the outbreak of Salmonella Newport (ref #1366) linked to cantaloupe, FDA’s outbreak investigation has closed.
