Honestly I wasn't sure what to expect with the new layout, but it kind of grew on me after a few days. The first time I opened it I kept looking for the old tabs, and then I realized they moved everything to the side panel, which is actually easier once you know it's there. I spent maybe twenty minutes just clicking around to see where everything went. My coworker asked if I had finally broken my habit of leaving seventeen windows open, and I had to laugh because I still do that on slow afternoons. The funny part is that the search function works way better now, so I don't even need half of those tabs anymore. I think people just resist change because it takes a minute to adjust, not because the new thing is worse. I told my sister to try it before forming an opinion, and she texted back an hour later saying she liked the dark mode option. That felt like a small win for both of us honestly. It reminded me that sometimes you have to give something a second chance before deciding it isn't for you. I still keep a notepad nearby for quick notes anyway, just in case I want to jot down a thought without switching screens. It works well enough for what I need, and I don't see myself going back at this point.

I finally got around to organizing that corner of the desk with all the stray cables and it made a bigger difference than I expected. For weeks I just kept pushing the pile to one side and pretending it wasn't there. Then I spent a rainy Saturday sorting everything into small labeled boxes, and now I can actually find the charger for the camera without digging for ten minutes. My roommate noticed right away and said the whole room felt calmer, which was probably a bit dramatic, but I didn't disagree. It was interesting how one small physical change shifted the way I worked for the rest of the weekend. I don't normally think of myself as someone who cares about that kind of thing, but maybe it matters more than I admit. Even the little bowl for the paperclips made a difference. It sounds trivial, but when the surface is clear, my brain doesn't feel as scattered. I think I might tackle the kitchen drawer next, though that one is a much bigger project and I'm not ready to commit yet.
