It's been a little while since you've heard from me, so let me catch you up.

Summer is officially wrapping up around here.

State fair officially starts tomorrow. My daughter's birthday is Friday (well actually Saturday, but we're pretending Friday b/c) --> Cody Johnson concert Saturday. Then Tuesday my son starts kindergarten, which means it's just me, my daughter, and my one and a half year old home together. My daughter starts preschool the following week.

Routines are about to be back in full swing.

And there's something about this specific time of year that always gets me thinking.

Summer felt endless in June. Now it's almost gone.

That's kind of how life works in general, isn't it? Time feels slow until suddenly it's not. You blink and another season passes, another year closes out, and you're left wondering what actually changed.
