Hello Thoreau Middle School!
We are excited to kick off our 4th season of Cross Country starting next week at Thoreau! Please see the important announcements and updates below regarding the new FCPS registration system through Final Forms as well as where to find all details regarding cross country and all middle school sports information.
Final Forms Account - all students participating in middle school and high school sports MUST create an account in “Final Forms”. This is where athletes will upload all documents to be cleared to attend practices. All parents with ParentVue accounts were sent an email from Final Forms to create their accounts. Please check your spam/junk mail for this information and if you do not see an email, you can create an account with the instructions in Schoology.
VHSL Physical Form - all athletes must have an updated VHSL Physical Form each season. These forms MUSt be filled out by a doctor and can be done in one of two ways. Athletes can bring the form to the doctor’s office to fill out based on their annual physical, or you can go to an Urgent Care or Minute Clinic for a quick exam. You will upload your athlete’s VHSL Physical directly into Final Forms. *If you already turned in your form to Thoreau, Ms. Schnebel will upload them into Final Forms for you only if your account is created.
Student Interest Meeting - we will hold a student interest meeting during Eagle Time (5th period) on Friday, 9/11 in the Cafeteria. The slides can be viewed in Schoology now under the course “Thoreau Middle School After School Program”.
Parent Meeting - a parent will be held on Monday, 9/14 at 7pm via Zoom (link will be posted in Schoology that day). This will be a time for any parents to ask additional questions from our Basic Information/FAQ Sheet which is posted in Schoology.
Access to Cross Country Information/Materials - all information for cross country (practices, meet days/times, etc.) are posted in the Schoology course “Thoreau Middle School After School Program.” All students have access to this course and parents can view it the same way they do other classes. If for some reason you cannot access a link as a parent, it means that your student has to access it with the FCPS Student Account/Email.
