Parents,
This week brought moments of sadness to our school community as we mourned the loss of a parent and remembered the events of September 11, 2001. We hold the affected families and all those impacted in our thoughts.
During difficult times, our school community reminds us of the importance of kindness, compassion, and caring for one another. We are grateful for the support our students, families, and staff show each day. Together, we will continue to learn, grow, and bring hope to one another.

Family Life Education (FLE) Overview
As shared in today’s eNotify, Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) conducts annual Family Life Education (FLE) instruction for grades K–12. Parents and guardians are essential partners in this learning. You are welcome to review FLE lesson materials anytime on the FCPS website, in Schoology using your SIS credentials, or in person at the school.
To respect family choices, you may choose to opt your child out of all or part of the FLE program by completing the digital opt-out form (or requesting a printed copy from the school). Students who are opted out will receive alternative health instruction.
- Instruction Dates: Please contact your child’s teacher directly to learn the specific dates FLE will be taught in their classroom.
- Pyramid Viewing Night: Oak View will be hosting a pyramid family viewing night this year for parents to review materials in person. Specific details and dates will be shared soon!

Bus Badges
We have handed out bus badges for students who were registered prior to July 2, 2026.
Students who have student ID cards should be tapping their ID card as they board and exit the bus. Only students who use FCPS transportation services will be provided with a student ID card at this time.
We ask for your patience! Bus drivers will begin checking in students next week and may need some extra time at each bus stop while they do this. The transportation team is working hard to minimize any potential delays.
